Take a walk on Sydney's wild side... A guided walking tour inspired by the new TV series, Underbelly: The Golden Mile, is taking fans and tourists on a journey through Sydney's colourful and corrupt past.

The Golden Mile Walking Tour, from veteran Kings Cross tour providers Bounce Walking Tours, explores the locations and settings for some of Sydney's most notorious criminal scandals featured in the new TV series, with expert commentary and a splash of contemporary tales of the Cross. The tour also features a cameo appearance from a local actor - but Bounce Walking Tours won't release the details of that, in fear of ruining the surprise for their walkers.

Starting at the Coke sign at 6pm daily plus 2pm on weekends, and finishing with a free drink at the Sugarmill Hotel, the 1.5 hour walk is the only tour of its kind in Australia.

It is an after-work or weekend experience with a difference, and for many domestic tourists, the tour is their only chance to delve into the infamous ways of Kings Cross with local knowledge at hand.

"Kings Cross is a pretty crazy place," says Rebecca Giglia, owner of Bounce Walking Tours. "But if you don't have a guide to tell you the tales and point out the locations, you can be left wandering the strip wondering where the action is. That's why we launched this tour - to have a bit of fun and help our fellow drama-enthusiasts appreciate their time in Kings Cross."

Bounce Walking Tours has been operating daily walking tours of Kings Cross since November 2006 and also operates Kings Cross based group and corporate activities.
